Welcome to Bettysmumknits where you will find beautiful hand knits for babies, that make wonderful gifts for expecting or new parents, baby showers or to celebrate the birth of a new little one.
I make colourful rainbow handknit baby cardigans and accessories in sizes from premature, perfect for anyone who wants something different from the traditional pastel baby coloured baby knits.
I love creating unique and abstract knitwear that will keep your little ones warm and stylish and make wonderful gifts for expectant parents or new arrivals.
Each item in my shop is lovingly crafted by myself using premium acrylic easy care yarns, ensuring softness and comfort for your baby's skin but also making it easy for you to machine wash and tumble dry the items.
Whether you're looking for a quirky cardigan to brighten up your baby's day or a cosy hat and mittens to keep them warm on chilly outings, i have the perfect handmade knitwear for you!
If you have a specific design or colour in mind, I’d be happy to create a unique item just for you. Simply contact me with your request, and I’ll work with you to create something you'll love.
Many of my items are one-offs so you can find a unique gift that no one else will have.

I’m Sally from Bettysmumknits. I’m a mum and grandma and have been knitting baby clothes for over 35 years since my first baby was born. I added my premature baby range after the early arrival of my granddaughter so she could have pretty knitwear too

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions
All washing instructions are described for each listing. Most items can be machine washed on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees or you can hand wash
Drying instructions are also listed, some items can be tumbled dried on a low setting, if not dry flat or line dry.
Gift wrapping and packaging
Every item listed in my shop will arrive wrapped in tissue paper and tied with coloured string.
If you are buying something as a gift select the GIFT option at checkout and enter the recipients details and your message and I will add a gift card and send direct to them.
Custom and personalised orders
I am happy to discuss custom orders. If you see a item you like but need a different size or colour , drop me a message.
Sizing details
Listings have full measurements of the garments as each child is unique and birth weights can vary a lot.If you’d like to check a size measure an item of clothing your baby is currently wearing and compare to the actual measurements given on the item you are interested in
The ages given are approximate and the baby cardigans allow for growing room so they will fit for at least a couple of months larger than the size stated (eg 3-6 months size cardigan will fit up to 8-9 months, 6-12 months cardigan will fit up to 15 months)
